1992年結成。
94年1stミニアルバムをZK Recordsよりリリース。
以来ZK Records,Victor Entertainment,avex traxより8枚のフルアルバムをリリース。その他ライブアルバム、リミックスアルバム、スプリットなど数々の音源をリリースしている。
活動初期からジャンルを越えたDJとのコラボレーションなども多く、ラウドミュージック・シーンの枠を切り開き、日本の音楽 シーンの中でも独自のサウンドを築く唯一無二の存在として熱い支持を集めている。
オルタナティブでエレクトロな“現場(ライブ)主義”サウンドはジャンルの壁を取り払い、 ダンスミュージックも飲み込み巨大なエネルギーとなって、更なるレベルへと進化/深化した近未来のロックを響かせている。
今尚国内外の数々のフェス等の出演やアーティストとの共演を重ね、その雑食性であらゆる ジャンルを喰らい尽くす、現在進行形の個性派集団!!!
2019年3月20日（水）に前作「nitro」からオリジナルフルアルバムとして12年振りとなる「weak」をcutting edgeからリリース。
2020年。一時活動休止をしていたムロチンのサポートだったマサトを正式メンバーに迎え、ツインドラムの5人編成で活動中。
WRENCH has been taking Japan’s music to new heights with their unique entertainment style since 1992.
The band released their first album in association with ZK Records in 1994.
Since then, WRENCH has released 8 hit albums in association with ZK Records, Victor Entertainment and avex trax. The band also successfully released several live albums, re-mixed albums and split albums over the years.
WRENCH is the one and only band in Japan that keeps developing unique sounds in the Japanese music scene and has been attracting passionate audiences for decades. Over the years WRENCH has always experimented with their music by crossing several genres of music, including collaborations with DJs. This bold and creative mix by WRENCH has made the band a frontrunner in the loud music scene.
The alternative and electronic sounds that WRENCH creates have never been heard before. WRENCH has been groundbreaking with their futuristic music and this has resulted in their music constantly evolving over the years. It is this unique creativity that has established WRENCH as a band with massive music energy and has lifted them to stand out at the next level in the music industry.
